Today I am grateful for willpower – that tiny burst of energy that made me get off my bed and go for a short run, that tiny spark that led me to go to the local co-op to buy ingredients for avocado soup, as opposed to eating a bag of chips for dinner. I don’t know where it comes from – If I did I would be a famous therapist; So many of my clients ask me about motivation.
I do think a mindfulness practice helps build gentle discipline that leads to good decision making. I say, enjoy your small bursts of willpower. Be grateful when they come.
